This is an interesting, but very flawed game. The atmosphere, mood, and unsettling items are all good, and even the general gameplay loop is kind of addictive. But it suffers greatly from it being super unclear what you're supposed to do. If you just do what probably makes the most sense to do (just eating whatever you can get from the machine to stay above 0% hunger and thirst, or saving up a large amount of coins to hopefully get a special item) you'll likely just get stuck with nothing happening, until you eventually starve to death. What it seems you're actually supposed to do is focus on only eating certain types of food and drink, without eating any food/beverages outside that category, because that will set back your progress.

Even knowing this though, it's still way too had to actually make progress. I just played this game for over two hours, and even though I went in knowing something of how the game worked already, I still wasn't able to actually get any ending. The first time I tried drinking only liquids, then the second time I tried only eating bugs and rotten food. But in both runs, I eventually had to eat or drink things outside the category, or things that I wasn't sure were in the same category or not. As a result, nothing seemed to happen other that my character slowly wasting away. And each time I died, it was with multiple pages of items in my possession, that I was reluctant to eat or drink because they were not what I was focusing on. It's still not clear to me if eating food/drink of a different kind completely resets your points towards a different kind, or if you just lose some. Either way, at the end it was just taking far too long for anything to happen, with my last run being about an hour and a half.

I did try for one more quick run after that, hoping to try just eating apple seeds. Unfortunately, that time the game bugged out. When I returned to the alley after continuing after death, it put me in tutorial mode again. This had happened before once and was fine, but this time it happened again the time I went to the alley after that, except it was stuck on the part where it wanted me to eat the food I had purchased. But I had no food, and it wouldn't let me click on the vending machine to buy any, even after leaving and coming back, and quitting and continuing. I had to eventually give up with over a thousand yen in my possession.

I have a few other issues too. For one thing, there is a slur graffitied on the wall behind where your character begs, which is odd. I don't know if it's there for "realism" or as some kind of statement, but since this game's writing seems to have been somewhat awkwardly translated from another language, I kind of suspect the devs got graffiti graphic from somewhere and just couldn't read what it said. Whatever the reason, it's quite distracting once noticed, and feels out of place for the N word to be written out in English in an otherwise largely Japanese setting. The other issue is with the music in the begging section: it is unbelievably repetitive. Again, maybe it's meant to  have some meaning, about how mind-numbing and repetitive this girl's everyday life is. If so, I must say it's far too effective, as it gets unbearably grating after a short time. Even a slightly longer music loop would be better.

Still, even with many flaws, there's something very compelling about this game. I hope it improves from here.

On Android I am bit confused what the function of the numpad

From what I can see it for codes I think but there no enter button stopper or ender.

Like you type the sentence or number code and hit enter but it keeps going. You could practically put the whole bee movie script in there.

Why did save scumming get patched? Can you please allow the same loophole where the game saves when you press back to street and only then, let the count of specific transformation routes remain and eaten food gets put back into the inventory when the player quits before a save. Thank you.

I think there's a bug with the bowser verison of the game. In the tutorial, its telling me to press on the coin slot, but clicking on it does nothing, and I just die because I can't progress with the tutorial due to not being able to click on the coin slot at all. In addition, clicking on anything on the UI screen once I get to the "click on the coin slot" still does nothing, softlocking me on the spot. I don't know what else to say on it, but I can't continue the game when it softlocks on just the tutorial and the game keeps ticking down the fuel and water bars when I can't do anything on the softlocked screen.

I really like this game! The art I great and I really like these SCP inspired games.

Weird bug I've encountered in browser version--> the screen will turn black and unresponsive, requiring me to reload the page. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem.

Tip: Look at the number on the machine after you receive an item; some of them have a specific guaranteed drop number

This game was something else...

I begged for coins

I mutated

I survived

Maybe

I enjoy the game, but I think that there should be items specifically allocated to [liquid] because it's always just a secondary tag with no real way to target the [liquid] route specifically.

Like that clear bottle the protagonist makes a comment on about how she hopes it has no long term effects. Liquids like that should just be [liquid] alone in the code.

I think some status changes to the transformations would be interesting. It would help convey something is changing about her and add more weirdness.

Healthy- Because apple seeds are so abundant perhaps healthy should be the easiest form to lose, receiving more money possibly being a reasonable trade off. Big pay out but harder to maintain.

Unhealthy- You get a chance of reviving unhealthy food with every selection from the vending machine. Non unhealthy food fills less hunger as if it’s not as satisfying and simulates struggling to diet without starving yourself.

Parasite- Alien insects show up in your inventory, as if they’re drawn to you.

Anomalous- Randomly gaining or losing hunger and thirst. Coins can change to different amounts.

Liquid- More drinks spawn but get thirstier.

I think a button that would pause the game and give us her thoughts would be neat, especially if there could be corresponding images to go along with some of them. Like she could comment on her current transformation and various aspects about it or something about whatever she ate last.

Could include some small tidbits like checking herself out in a puddle or her reflection in the vending machine or just looking at her body herself and any issues that would come with being the way she is.

Examples:

Healthy- Waving to people passing her by and feeling confident about her toned arms and stomach. Some kind of astral projection into some greater cosmic awareness.

Unhealthy- Clutching her stomach from the queasiness of adjusting to a bad diet and realizing just how much more of her there is as she does so. Struggling to just get up and how tiresome it is to move being so heavy with so little energy and stamina.

Parasite- Checking out her maggots and mutations. Showing a nest she built at her final stage.

Anomalous- Adjusting to accepting strange as the new normal, the world around her seeming more foreign.

Liquid- Seeing just how much of the black liquid is pooling around her.

Likewise, there should be comments from passerby’s about your current condition but to maintain the surrealness and leaving the player wondering who’s still giving her money the people walking by could still retain their same scornful attitude, as if what’s happened to you is equally as repulsive, shameful and inconvenient as being homeless. The healthy route probably being the exception.

Healthy:

At worst, people walking by will resent you for “wasting” your looks when you could be making something of yourself, but mostly people might not even assume you’re homeless at all, receiving compliments when they do. By the time you assend to a higher plain of health the people around you see you as an idol, giving you offerings like your presence compels them to idolize her.

The girl comments about feeling good about how she looks and how she feels. Even when she’s hungry she doesn’t seem to feel like it’s enough that she feels sick. Her outlook on her situation is more optimistic as she seems to be doing pretty well all things considered. When she’s ascended she has grown beyond mortal material needs.

When she receives something healthy she’ll comment on how good it will feel to eat it while unhealthy food will make her wince a little, like she’s thinking about her figure. She’ll especially be weary of gross and unusual stuff.

Unhealthy:

When it comes to other people they react like she doesn’t need money to buy food, that she’s clearly been eating plenty as is and could stand to starve a little. Some regular dialogue suggests people recognize her from before as they pass by so they could say they’re disappointed the money they gave her went to just fattening herself up, like she took advantage of people’s good will, or if they don’t recognize her they assume this is what she already looked like and say some fatphobic stuff about her, like wasting her money on food was how she got to be homeless. Also because she gets so sweaty they can smell it which repulses them. When she’s turning into a blob the dialogue could stay the same, as if how she looks then is no different that just being overweight.

In terms of herself she could have a sort of defeatist optimism about it, almost like the healthy route but more so like she’s resigned to letting herself go to survive. She’s certainly well fed so that’s got to count for something. Kinda feeling she’s left not wanting for food… except she is, almost like she feels guilty for even suggesting someone in her state should complain about eating to survive, like it’s ungrateful. She’ll also comment on what it’s like in her body, that it feels weird feeling so big and heavy in such a short time . Once she’s huge in phase two she comments more about it in an absurdist light. That she’s ridiculously heavy and large and she practically has to lumber herself around to move. Once she’s turning into a blob at phase three, four and five she starts to stop thinking about much other that how much it can fill her up, eventually devolving to simple minded thinking about wanting more and never not feeling hungry.

When it comes to plenty of unhealthy food, soda especially, she seems to treasure it like a delicacy and that she’s looking forward to trying it. So perhaps the first and second phase is your typical situation where someone is addicted to junk food, finding it hard to not have another or to choose something else. Her responses to food will basically be like trying to diet, she knows it’s better for her but she’s still thinking about how water doesn’t hit quite as herd as soda, or that she’s craving something more sugary when eating non sugary food. When it comes to moldy stuff, like she says about the moldy bread, it’s starting to become appetizing though she knows that’s kinda a bad thing, which could be carried over to the other non unhealthy foods like bugs. And again, the later three she’s becoming an eating machine that doesn’t care about taste or what it is. She just needs more.

Parasitic:

People treat her like a leper during stage one and comment on the maggots. They’re basically glad she’s on the streets away from them and don’t want to get close to her and catch what she has. When she mutates she’s treated like an insect, wondering when pest control will take care of this thing already.

She feels sick and is miserable, mortified by the maggots in her, then once she’s huge mutates she’s aware she’s losing her humanity as voices in her head, parasites infesting her thoughts, are swaying her judgement. Then once she’s a full insect she thinks of it as having finally metamorphosed, as if her human form was a chrysalis.

In terms of food the more parasites she eats the more she’s compelled to eat more, thinking of benefiting a colony inside her and implying there’s some vague final goal to achieve (becoming a hive mother) which brings her despair. The voices will disway her from eating anything else as it will not benefit the colony.

Anomalous:

For the first stage she realizes all these strange foreign things she’s been eating really are some kind of dimensional mix up, pondering if they came from somewhere where they’re normal or are just some kind of logic error in reality being churned out. As the stages progress she starts to talk oddly and think in ways that seem alien to us, like her mind is conforming to what would be normal in that foods dimension of origin.

People respond to it like she’s a freak but their words start to make less sense, eventually turning to gibberish, like she can’t understand their language anymore.

When she reacts to the anomalous food she starts to enjoy it more, and think about it like it makes sense dialogue about stuff that’s normal starts seeming alien to her, like that’s they’re the questionable thing.

Liquid:

Feeling bloated but continuously more and more thirsty. Not much I know what to add.

Just a heads up that the volume options don't properly save when you press save and close in the main menu on the current web version.

Hey hey, I'm a complete beginner regarding my skills on unpacking games, however I'm really interested in doing so. I've been trying to unpack this game for quite a while now, but I haven't had any luck so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The machine when something gets dropped displays a code, if an amount of money equal to the code is inserted, that same drop will get dropped, like everything has its own codes.

I wrote some of the good foods down here, there might be more probably there is. Everything thats not normal food is either rotten, metal parts like batteries and gears, different

types of water, sodas, cooked human parts, raw and cooked insects.

My theory is that if the amount inserted is not corrispondent to any specific type of food, the machine drops something random that costs less then the amount inserted.

I tested only with the 500 yen coin with the infinite money glitch, there may be some other stuff that costs more

  • 180 pizza
  • 214 something described as "meat" and "chunky", honestly looks like chocolate salami
  • 496 magic ligthning looking bottle
  • 314 monster energy
  • 358 hamburger
  • 352 kebab
  • 442 stick with meat and veggies on it i dont remember how its called
  • 119 kitkat
  • 458 waffles
  • 199 dirt
  • 330 rice
  • 412 scp-682 figurine
  • 382 cooked dicks idk
  • 253 gatorade
  • 275 chocolate kisses
  • 188 redbull
  • 387 weird cartoon soda
  • 395 mountain dew
  • 171 korean drink looks like
  • 394 sushi
  • 426 lasagne
  • 243 KFC bucket
  • 430 starbucks drink with wipped cream
  • 392 ramen bowl
  • 300 coke zero
  • 204 fried chicken

Sometimes it spells only "GOOD" after dropping something apparently random:

  • 1-400 apple seeds
  • tacos
  • bbq stuff
  • blue juice (maybe water but idk)
  • Churro's
  • different types of sodas

If you only eat apple seeds, you will eventually become prettier, then muscly, then youll become a celestial being. I didnt check if there was an actual ending though

Normal food apparently doesnt do anything, even "high calory stuff" doesnt seem to make you fat

from what I've seen the amounts actually randomise whenever you reopen the game, like, I had a whole txt file open in the background and I had things like 201 for KFG bucket, 228 for pep-c, etc, but lost all of that when I closed the game for a while

(1 edit)

To be honest I only made an account to comment on here. First off, well done! Great concept, spooky vibes and an almost addictive game concept of getting random food items. I hope you keep on developing as a lot of people are sure to be keeping an eye on this. 👁️

With that being said, I do have some suggestions for the problems I've encountered. Firstly, definitely the speed at which the food and drink decreases, it's too fast to manage when I want to mutate the character, forcing me to either have her eat different food while waiting for the money to save up or starve her which I believe stops the mutation happening. I think it should go down slower, maybe after a few loops and her consistently eating food it could show she's not as hungry as the start of the game, also the hydration bar being at 0 seemingly does nothing? Though the drinks are rarer than food so that's also hard to manage, perhaps there should be an option to get either food or a drink atleast. Speaking of, as fun as it is, maybe there should be an option to get specific food items if a specific amount of money is put in (eg 111 for bugs, 222 for fast food/soda). This would greatly help save our time if we've seen most of the food already but haven't had all the mutations.

Personally I've tried to go for the healthy ending (ended up seeing her upto when she's a spirit) but due to not feeding enough she reverted back a few stages, which made the progress feel sluggish and I was a bit frustrated. So I've not actually seen any endings despite playing around 3/4 hours, but greatly enjoyed the suspense of seeing what comes out the vending machine next.

I noticed despite how the character looks the people walking past say the same dialogue, hope ones related to her condition can be implemented.

Please add more foods from the scp logs, it would be fun to see some little animations if possible as well. Also, I noticed she doesn't comment on each item? I look forward to seeing the updates :)

I don't know if anyone noticed but I saw her commenting on the moldy sandwich as if it was cookies with wasps in it, then the second time stating they tasted like raisins.

(+2)

Someone's gotta take one for the team and get all endings, and post pictures of all the stages and such. I don't have the patience to do it myself and I rly like this game's art style

(+2)(-1)

Hey. Trying to play both the Window and browser versions.

In both instances, the vending machine screen behave like a giant text box, which, if I had to guess, is linked to the Don't touch sign being glitched.

Whatever the case, it makes the game unplayable for me, since I can't access the slot screen.

click on the text box to progress the dialogue, until there is no text box.

(1 edit)

Couldn't make anything happen other than starve to death. Even using a spreadsheet of what food does what and an infinite money glitch. The amounts needed to trigger changes need to be cut in half, if not more.

don't eat the food, sore it, and as for the hanger, just use coins up to 50 yen to get seeds, and eat them, that will keep you alive for a while, make sure you are shiny every time. but I think I know what your actual problem is, you leave the begging screen to early and you don't get enough money. stay there until you get the first message the police might notice you, or whatever it says, and go to the vending machine, do that every time, never leave early, and use the infinite money bug only with the 500 yen coin, even the 100 yen coin is not worth it for the bug, only use the 500 yen coin for the bug, also make sure your hunger doesn't stay at 0 for too long, or you will become worse, and only eat healthy foods or seeds for hunger. ignore the water meter, it's not worth drinking water. Keep in mind that eating other types of food then your transformation will also make your transformation go down. so only eat healthy foods until you get a lot of other categories.

(-1)

I did ALL of that stuff. Stayed on the begging screen till it gives the cop warning. Only used the 500 yen coin for the glitch. Found a spreadsheet in the comments listing what food does what transformation. Spent like 15 minutes buying and eating stuff for a specific transformation. STILL didn't get anything to happen. The game has the problem, not me.

(+1)

The game is very tedious and specific : If you want to transform. At first just eat any food to survive. however, hoard the food that has the transformation you want, you need A LOT at least by minimum 8 pages of the same food if possible. 10 Plus is better.

Once you're ready, then start to eat and ONLY eat the food that gets you the transformation that you want.

Bug notice. There are many instances where the character will comment that she has already eaten / drunk something when I never fed the item to her.

It's not really a bug I think, since it appears when you get an item for the second time. It probably is because the game and a lot of the dialogues are not completed, there are so many items that she doesn't comment on at all any ways.

I just looked normal and healthy for like two hours.

(1 edit) (+1)

how i use the infinite money glitch is you drag the coin too the X then click said X then quickly drag it to the coin machine then you get whatever the coins value free

you don't need to click the x, just outside of any coin's hit box and away from the coin slot will close it.

(+2)

would be cool if there was a way to grab a bunch of coins at once because you end up amassing a hoard of 1 yen coins and it's a pain to even try and get rid of them

(+1)

I know, and it even wastes your time/food bar when you use the coins. It is not worth it to use the 1 yen coins.

Downloaded the game within the last few minutes AND played in browser, encountering a bug where I can't click on the coin slot in the tutorial. Unfortunate. Not sure if 0.1.02 possibly broke something or if it's just my systems.

I'd like to be able to play this game D:

you have to hit space bar to progress the dialogue, then it lets you click the slot. Unnecessary and confusing.

(+2)

Man can we get a happy ending were she becomes a D class personel, but atleast they give her free meals while studying her...

(5 edits) (+2)

Infinite money glitch. you need to click outside of the money and the coin hole to exit the machine, then quickly pick up a coin and place it in the hole, after that when you click the machine again it will have the coin's value inside but you still have the coin. you can use it as is and get a free item every time, note that you can't get that coin that is inside if you exit, so it can only be used as a free coin, so just use a 500. it's the fastest way to get all foods up to 500. But not healthy foods, I noticed that the healthy foods you get with 500, is just enough to keep you fed for the time it takes to do the bug, if you want to go the healthy transformations, then just go with 50 seeds packs. (or a thousand if you have the money, but in my experience, just using all your money up to 50 coins, getting seeds is the best way.)

by the way I noticed in the comments that not that many people know that when you get an item the vending machine says the coins you need to put for a guaranteed same item, for example 333 yen is a bottled fetus. maybe a reference to please don't touch anything? idk.  edit: not all of them have a price for a guaranteed droop.

Just tried it and it works, not even hard to do , unless the game dev is reading this in which case  it doesn't work and there is no need to look into it as a bug. also I noticed the number thing and it works for multiple items but I think the number changes if you reload the game.

love the game but it is missing a few things, this is just some constructive criticism and a few suggestions

What the game is missing is a long-term goal, sure surviving is a short-term goal but there is really nothing to work to after the mechanics are figured out and the game play is mastered, there are the transformations to find, but they are difficult to discover naturally, and I had to look in the comments to see how it works. Maybe add a cryptic hint about eating too much of the same type of food. There is also discovering every food item, but that feels like more of an extra thing that someone would do after they have completed the game and not a goal for someone to complete

There need to be endings. Starving and getting arrested are game overs but they aren't phrased as endings, I think it would be better if they were endings 1 and 2 out of however many endings there are, and an ending for each transformation too. Going back to my first point, a good ending (and a long-term goal) could be saving up enough money for something that drastically improves the main characters situation, I don't know what this would be yet and it might require expanding on the lore but I think the game would improve with it.

I don't know how I would fix this game play wise, but the whole game is slow to progress, I have spent a few hours playing and I have only gotten two transformations fully. Maybe add some different game-play for the money gaining part.

This last thing is more of something that I would find funny, but I noticed that after purchasing some items (I don't know if it works on all of them) a number flashes on the screen of the vending machine, and inputting that number of yen allows you to get the same item again, I think that putting in 69 yen and 420 yen should get special food items, but this is more of a humorous suggestion than a serious one.

That's everything I have to say

Edit: it just occurred to me that another good feature would be if the gallery shows more info about the food, like how much you need to pay for it or a short description.

(-2)

The game has a good idea, but should they have added an inappropriate element to the game? I see it as things that have nothing to do with a bloody and scary game. I see it as a good game if it was free of inappropriate things for Akmor.

so i watched a video on this SCP this game is based on and

(im pretty sure you were talking about the brown you know what)

and that actually is a item that the thing sells so i guess they were trying to get it as close to the SCP
