Interdimensional Vending Machine
Inspired by the SCP Foundation's SCP-261, in Interdimensional Vending Machine, you play as a strange, homeless girl surviving in a world that seems to have forgotten how to be normal. One night, she stumbles upon a vending machine. Not just any machine—but one that shouldn’t exist. It hums. It glitches. It responds to Japanese yen and dispenses items that defy language, biology, and maybe logic itself.
Gameplay
Interdimensional Vending Machine offers a simple yet unsettling loop of begging, feeding, and discovering:
🔹 Beg for Coins on the Street
Sit cross-legged under a midnight sky. Watch people walk by. They might look at you. They might drop a coin. They might say something strange, something cruel, or something that doesn’t feel quite human. Every coin matters.
🔹 Spend Coins at the Vending Machine
Enter the other scene: a cramped, humming liminal space where the machine waits. Insert yen, and the machine dispenses a random item from an unknown place, time, or reality. Some restore hunger. Some ease thirst. Others... don’t.
🔹 Eat or Drink to Survive
Choose carefully. Every item can help, harm, or change you. One may grant energy, another may reduce your ability to speak. One may cure thirst, another may make you forget what thirst even is. Effects are often surreal, mysterious, and sometimes irreversible.

Intedimensional Vending Machine is a highly experimental game based on another SCP. It's still a work in progress but we have a good idea on how we can expand it.
Please consider supporting us through Patreon so we can further make games and hopefully get enough financial support to become a fully-fledged game studio.

who’s starving man and why does the game keep resetting every time he dies?
That dude taking your food and you get nothing empty street left arrow
I love the game's vibe, this is creepy and dystopian.

EDIT: ... Lost a run because of the Starving Man on the Empty Street > Left Arrow part of the map??? I gotta take care of him too I guess?
Some thoughts:
1. Coins become unmanageable at some point.
As cluttered and scattered as a coin purse can be (which works for the vibe of the game!), whether as a base feature or something to "Earn/Unlock" in a play-through via some side quest or food trade, some Feature that sorts the Coins via Value into their own piles would work fantastic here. Maybe something like Coin Stacks that tower up to 5-10 as you get that amount of that value coin, and a total amount tracker over/under that stack of X once you go beyond the visual max for the tower. (For the 5 and 50 coins, the stack's visuals could be tied with a shoestring like a dystopian necklace.)
Since the whole manual coin insertion's the star of the show, I wouldn't dare ask to be allowed to manually type a value, merely streamlining the coin piles to help with value selection.
2. On the note of Currency management... Currency Exchange? It'd be nice to be able to ditch all of the 1's and 5's for a single 100.
3. The Inventory can be improved. For the current system, I love that food now stacks for multiples. I have two issues.
-I can't tap/click an item I see, it has to be DIRECT CENTRE of the inventory to THEN highlight, and THEN interact with. Making the centre item always highlighted would help there.
-Getting to the other items is gonna take some time, since you gotta tap the arrow and wait for the inventory to slide. If the player was allowed to either constantly tap that Arrow Up/Down to speed through their inventory, or even making the items that aren't the centre tappable to highlight and auto-move to centre, that would be a major improvement.
4. Inventory sorting might be rough with the current system. Being able to put stuff we don't want at the bottom or even completely new items for the run getting put at the top with an Unread/Untouched notification tag might work for now? Ideally, some kind of grid with multiple pages would be nice. The game's gonna have alot of items, and in a game with alot of items, item management's a big thing, and a 1 x 5 strip is going to be rough to deal with... Again, for now? Works great since the item pool isn't that big, you at least HAVE an inventory system, that's impressive.
I dunno how a game about begging in the streets and mutating from inter-dimensional food has me this engaged enough to draw up an image of my idea, but... this game has alot of effort and passion and I'm very excited to see more!
I figured out it gives you a code after receiving the item so put in the number amount show on the display when it gives it. usually it would be a normal number amount.
Btw for anyone reading this (me late) heres a tip for all transformation paths
Perfect line (celestial, cosmic tree)
Only eat apple seeds. First try to eat a good food like lemon clam to give you more hunger to start, then insert ONLY ¥50 yen for 50 apple seeds, this worked for me. 5 stages
Unhealthy line (gluttonous sugar addict blob)
Only drink sodas, but you can also eat better foods like chocolate food. For sodas, only insert ¥150 which will always guarantee a cola, pepsi or ghostbusters soda. 5 stages
Anomalous line (Rainbow alien)
Only eat foods such as fluffy alien box, lemon clams, rainbow apples, that fetus in a bottle, bottles eyes, sewage and i cant name more. Inserting ¥100 will have a 11% chance to give you an anomalous item. Inserting ¥500 yen has a %50 chance to give you an Anomalous item.
Parasite line (Queen of insects)
Eat foods such as bottled worms, cicadas, pile o slugs, roaches (ROASTED ROACHES ON A STICK DO NOT COUNT), and more. Insert ¥100 for the best chances but im not sure.
Liquid line (Hollow bride)
Unobtainable, no liquids will do anything, sodas will lead you to the unhealthy route, sewage water will lead you to the Anomalous route, antarctic water and figi i dont know
I only managed to make first alien transformation after eating fetus for 2 hours
here’s a list of items I found if anyone needs it
code, item name, effects
Adding some to his mressange without effects (bc i am lazy).
If annyone want can write more.
Ammount, item name
1 - 1 seed
2 - 2 seed
3 - 3 seed
5 - 5 seed
10 -10 seed
7 - 7 seed
136 - burger (at least looks like it)
126 - idk what but gives something
500 - random or gives 500 seeds
Random (that not giving item) - gives mostly seeds
This demo has great art. However, the art aside, everything else is bad and needs to be improved. Now, I realize that it's an unfinished demo, so some of my points can be explained by that, but I still thought I should mentioned them just in case:
It's a cool game but it's gets boring in time and like nothing affects on a character, she just exists there and maybe eats something gross but never been even thin
We need ways to increase the yield of yen....or at least give more ways to earn hunger or thirst fillage
When You're playing an SCP game and you have to drink an unborn fetus, you know you've got a banger.
Really fun, would play for hours.
Just started playing and its a great game. People who say they dont give alot of money, nobody in real life gives beggars hundreds of dollars... maybe 1,2,3,4 and maybe 5 bucks... IF that. i love that, the realism.
Those aren't dollars though. I'm pretty sure they're yen
yeah they are. lol realized that playing halfway and needed to convert it every time on my phone. but still its realistic.
I love this game, but it crashes non stop and gets rid of all my progress, all my invigorating, my money, everything
how do i use teh infinite money glitch
also would be cool if passerby reacted to you changing
Yeah thats a cool idea, oh what if the transformations are all in the girl's head and the passerby don't see her what she transformed in but still as the first she was but would be cool if they do react when the girl becomes thinner when you starve her.
is starving and dying all you can do...these people don't give enough money
What I do is put some 100 yen in the vending machine and eat the food or drinks that given to you and keep going to the streets until you get more money then you can wrap it up do the 100 yen again but save the food go back to the streets and if you see your hunger is on 0 eat the food also you can live without the thirst meter being 0 for a long time but once the police comes just wrap it up again and see how much money you got if you have more then 1500 yen you can put the 500 yen in there for either good food or good drinks or by a rare chance you get apple seeds. Hope this helps.
(Had to update this after 4 hours after posting this, so it's a different comment now and my honest opinion on the game, mobile version.)
So I know I said before this game is similar to Anomalous Coffee Machine (only Coffee and adult themed in that one then food and drinks and luckly no adult stuff in this one.) because of SCP-261 (I know the Coffee Machine is SCP-294 and not SCP-261) but after playing more of this game, I prefer to play this one as I do like the part where you have put the coins in the machine yourself by dragging it, also you have to keep the hunger and thirst meter up, well except if you want to go the starved ending, as it's more interesting and I do like the yen money as I may not be from Japan I just find their money fascinated but back to the topic of the game the art looks so good too even the bad food are detailed but just want to say this again, keep up the good work on this game and I hope to see more of this game and the updates. 😊
Oh tiny question will there ever be a version of this game where you play as a guy?
I finally released my 100% video on this game! If you guys want to see all the transformations, all items, all dialogue and more, check it out here!
The game is very good, but needs some QOL updates.
first: skip dialogue when collecting from the machine. its extremely tedious. instead give items in the inventory a description.
second, feeding coins to the machine is also highly tedious, maybe let us pick up a selected value of 1 yen coins, like 5 or 10 at a time.
It took too long for anything to happen
I admit I don't quite undertand the mechanics ?
I assumed transformations happend only when you ate weird things but I really wanted to survive and noticed keeping just one bar up would keep me alive so I used all my coins one by one to get a lot of seeds and then cyanide poisoned myself to become attractive, then very attractive then buff, then a cosmic being, then a bunch of spaghetti noodle ?
I don't really see the correlation between my actions and the outcomes
the idea seems to be 'healthier'
when you reach peak health, whats left but too a c c e n d
I do hope there will be good endings where she becomes healthy and beautiful, she was already homeless and desperate enough to collect coins from corpses. Cut the girl a break
There was an update 14h ago but there was no log for it, so what actually was changed? Also the Steam page doesnt link to the game for me dev.
Is it glitching or is it just really slow for things to start happening?
500 yen coin is such a treasure yet so inconvenient... (5 items for 1)
does the lady you play as have a canon name?
This was such a bizarre, beautiful, and quietly disturbing experience — I absolutely loved it.
We featured your game in a recent YouTube video where we played some of the creepiest and most surreal games on Itch.io, and this one really stood out.
Nope, it's either bugged or not implemented at all yet and not achievable by normal means right now.
We'll have to wait for the next update to get the bride route hopefully
100% needs a fast forward button as well as the machine to always give the code for each item it drops when you get a random item.
As it is now it's kind of tedious.
A lot of the foods show up as a moldy sandwich even when it's something entirely different and the description is different.
I think this game is super cool, and I love the idea and the art! I think if the creators decide to put more updates and content into this that it can become a genuinely good game.
Currently, though, there isn't anything telling you that eating only certain categories of food is the only way to "progress" the game. And once you do figure it out, after you learn how to survive and just hoard the type of food you do need, it kind of just becomes grinding until you have a big enough stash of the food you need to transform her fully.
Couldn't end up finding any endings despite fully transforming her and grinding for a while afterwards for a few different categories. Seeing the different transformations was fun though! I did like this game overall, just feel like it could have more.
Uhm dev I think there is a problem whenever I press the insert coin button on mobile I can't press it and when I press the MC it opens the keyboard
Just Finished the Parasite Route, but I'm stuck on liquid Route atm. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong but i can seem to figure it out yet. I'll probably update on progress later if I figure it out.
Also Surprisingly, Unhealthy Route was very easy. Because I mostly was saving up coins for drinks as well.
:)
This is an interesting, but very flawed game. The atmosphere, mood, and unsettling items are all good, and even the general gameplay loop is kind of addictive. But it suffers greatly from it being super unclear what you're supposed to do. If you just do what probably makes the most sense to do (just eating whatever you can get from the machine to stay above 0% hunger and thirst, or saving up a large amount of coins to hopefully get a special item) you'll likely just get stuck with nothing happening, until you eventually starve to death. What it seems you're actually supposed to do is focus on only eating certain types of food and drink, without eating any food/beverages outside that category, because that will set back your progress.
Even knowing this though, it's still way too had to actually make progress. I just played this game for over two hours, and even though I went in knowing something of how the game worked already, I still wasn't able to actually get any ending. The first time I tried drinking only liquids, then the second time I tried only eating bugs and rotten food. But in both runs, I eventually had to eat or drink things outside the category, or things that I wasn't sure were in the same category or not. As a result, nothing seemed to happen other that my character slowly wasting away. And each time I died, it was with multiple pages of items in my possession, that I was reluctant to eat or drink because they were not what I was focusing on. It's still not clear to me if eating food/drink of a different kind completely resets your points towards a different kind, or if you just lose some. Either way, at the end it was just taking far too long for anything to happen, with my last run being about an hour and a half.
I did try for one more quick run after that, hoping to try just eating apple seeds. Unfortunately, that time the game bugged out. When I returned to the alley after continuing after death, it put me in tutorial mode again. This had happened before once and was fine, but this time it happened again the time I went to the alley after that, except it was stuck on the part where it wanted me to eat the food I had purchased. But I had no food, and it wouldn't let me click on the vending machine to buy any, even after leaving and coming back, and quitting and continuing. I had to eventually give up with over a thousand yen in my possession.
I have a few other issues too. For one thing, there is a slur graffitied on the wall behind where your character begs, which is odd. I don't know if it's there for "realism" or as some kind of statement, but since this game's writing seems to have been somewhat awkwardly translated from another language, I kind of suspect the devs got graffiti graphic from somewhere and just couldn't read what it said. Whatever the reason, it's quite distracting once noticed, and feels out of place for the N word to be written out in English in an otherwise largely Japanese setting. The other issue is with the music in the begging section: it is unbelievably repetitive. Again, maybe it's meant to have some meaning, about how mind-numbing and repetitive this girl's everyday life is. If so, I must say it's far too effective, as it gets unbearably grating after a short time. Even a slightly longer music loop would be better.
Still, even with many flaws, there's something very compelling about this game. I hope it improves from here.
Something worth noting, which is actually something I just discovered, you can chose what item you get from the machine. When you put in 100 yen, you get a random item, but the machine will tell you what the actual cost of that item was.
As an example, I put 100 yen in, and gave me the slug sushi. The machine was then showing a price of 124 yen, so I put in exactly that amount, and got the same item. I did it again, same result. Then again, and again, and again. So I was able to become rotten pretty quickly.
I will note, I had to reload the game once, and it seems the price of the item is randomized each game load. Even so, it makes it much easier to control what you eat. So long as the item isn't 6000 yen.
It is true, do you mind add discord for talk about this?
On Android I am bit confused what the function of the numpad
From what I can see it for codes I think but there no enter button stopper or ender.
Like you type the sentence or number code and hit enter but it keeps going. You could practically put the whole bee movie script in there.
Why did save scumming get patched? Can you please allow the same loophole where the game saves when you press back to street and only then, let the count of specific transformation routes remain and eaten food gets put back into the inventory when the player quits before a save. Thank you.
It's likely because the dev intends to have this game be put on Steam at some point and doesn't want their game to be easily cheesed without knowledge in decompiling files.
If you want my advice to get the endings you want without going into the game files, I suggest referring to this spreadsheet by Crystalbinja to whitelist the food that contributes to the ending you're going after and don't eat the foods that don't contribute unless no other options exists at the moment. It doesn't get rid of the RNG factor, but considering I don't know how to decrypt Godot files without having to also buy a PCK Bruteforcer; unless the dev adds a secret debug menu in a future update, my advice is as good as it's gonna get.
I think there's a bug with the bowser verison of the game. In the tutorial, its telling me to press on the coin slot, but clicking on it does nothing, and I just die because I can't progress with the tutorial due to not being able to click on the coin slot at all. In addition, clicking on anything on the UI screen once I get to the "click on the coin slot" still does nothing, softlocking me on the spot. I don't know what else to say on it, but I can't continue the game when it softlocks on just the tutorial and the game keeps ticking down the fuel and water bars when I can't do anything on the softlocked screen.
Did you keep clicking on the text box until it's completely gone? It won't let you click on anything else while it's still there. It's kind of annoying.
I really like this game! The art I great and I really like these SCP inspired games.
Weird bug I've encountered in browser version--> the screen will turn black and unresponsive, requiring me to reload the page. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem.
Tip: Look at the number on the machine after you receive an item; some of them have a specific guaranteed drop number
